FAQ
What peony varieties does Fleur de Roy offer?
We offer a collection of 14 Fleur de Roy peony varieties, with an ever-expanding selection. Our palette encompasses four primary colors and 14 beautiful shades—ranging from delicate pinks and pristine whites, to deep reds and vibrant corals, each accompanied by its unique fragrance. Discover your preferred flower blooms within the pages of our catalog.
When are Fleur de Roy peonies available for purchase?
Our field-grown Fleur de Roy peonies benefit from a microclimate unique to southwestern Ontario. They are available for purchase through Fleur de Roy’s Peony Bloom Experience, which commences in late May, weather permitting, and concludes by mid-June. Be sure to Subscribe to our waitlist to be the first to know when ticket sales available!
We offer a carefully curated assortment of peony varieties selected to ensure an evolving supply of early and late blooming options. Visit us regularly during our annual Peony Bloom Experience to discover the evolving blooms.
How should I select my ‘Fleur de Roy’ peony flowers?
For the best selection, cut peonies when the buds:
- Show some colored petals.
- Are not sticky to the touch
- Feel soft, in the “marshmallow stage.”
If these conditions are not met, please do not cut! It’s too early and the flower may not open.
If the flower is in bloom, you can cut at any time, it’s never too late.
How do I care for my ‘Fleur de Roy’ peony flowers bouquet?
Fill a clean vase with water at room temperature.
Trim the end of each Fleur de Roy peony flower stem by 2-3 cm, cutting diagonally at a 45-degree angle to enhance water uptake. Submerge the flower stems to one-third of their length in the vase, ensuring no leaves are underwater.
Position your vase away from direct sunlight, heat sources and drafts, and keep the peonies flowers bouquet indoors to avoid attracting insects with their vibrant hues and enticing aroma.
Refresh the water and re-trim the peony flowers stems every two days to prolong the joy of your Fleur de Roy bouquet.
If you wish to extend the life of your peonies, add a few ice cubes to the water in the vase and store them in the fridge overnight.
What if a peony bud won’t open?
Should a bud stubbornly refuse to bloom after 48 hours, isolate the peony flower stem, give it a fresh diagonal cut, and place it in a separate vase with warm water.
A few hours of sunlight can coax the bud to swell. Once it begins to open, reintegrate the stem with your peonies flower bouquet, keeping it indoors to prevent insects from being drawn to its fragrance and color.
I need all my Fleur de Roy peony flowers to bloom immediately!
Patience is the essence of beauty. While various ‘quick’ flower blooming methods circulate online, they may shorten your peony flower bouquet’s lifespan. We advise against such practices.

No. All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. Please ensure you select the correct date and time when purchasing, as we cannot accommodate changes or cancellations.
2 Exceptions: 1/The duration and timing of our peony season are determined by Mother Nature. What is the best footwear?
Our peony garden is an outdoor space, and while you’ll mostly walk on grass paths, you may encounter dirt, rocks, uneven ground, or mud after rain. We recommend sturdy, comfortable footwear for a safe and enjoyable visit. Keep some rubber boots in your car, just in case, particularly for morning visits.

How long can we visit the flower farm for?
Your ticket is valid for a 3-hour time slot. You are free to stay for as long or as short as you like within that period. Some visitors come for a quick flower pick-up, others relax under the shade, and our most passionate guests cut flowers for 3 hours straight!
Is the flower farm wheelchair accessible?
We have wide paths between flowers, and you’ll be rolling on grass most of the time, but you may encounter dirt, rocks and uneven ground. As long as the ground is dry, accessibility is manageable. However, be aware that the terrain is uneven and can be difficult in muddy conditions.
Are pets allowed?
No. To ensure a clean and safe environment for both visitors and our delicate flowers, pets are not allowed.

I am a professional photographer, what is the process to arrange photo shoots?
We welcome professional photographers and have designed a simple process for both you
and your clients.
First, choose a date and time slot that works for your sessions and invite your clients to join
you. You would then purchase a ticket on our website for that specific date and time https://fleurderoy.ticketspice.com/fleur-de-roy-peony-bloom-experience ,
and ask your clients to do the same. With their ticket, clients are welcome to pick peony
flowers either during or after their photo session.
Many photographers schedule several clients within the same 3-hour time slot, allowing
them to work with multiple clients during that window. The 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm slot is
particularly popular, as the setting sun over the fields creates beautiful evening light.
If you plan to visit multiple times during the season, you would only need to purchase a
ticket for your first visit. Any additional visits during the season are complimentary,
provided you are bringing paying guests.
Tickets will open for reservation in April, and the 2026 spring season is expected to
run approximately from late May to early June (timing may vary slightly depending on the
weather and bloom conditions).

- Clippers provided on-site for easy cutting
- Fresh water to keep your flowers vibrant

This helps ensure that every visitor can fully enjoy the experience – from immaculate blooms to the simple pleasure of sitting in the grass, surrounded by delicate fragrances.
Will you have Duchesse de Nemours (white peonies)?
Yes – in abundance.
Hundreds of thousands of white peonies, including Duchesse de Nemours and other white varieties, will be in bloom.
Also, a little secret… while our website offers a glimpse, many more varieties are quietly growing in the garden, with new ones added each year.
What if I have mobility issues?
To help you fully enjoy your experience at Fleur de Roy, please note that the visit involves walking longer distances (approximately 500 meters or more) on slightly uneven ground.
Seating is placed throughout the garden, inviting you to rest and take in the surroundings at your own pace. Walkers are generally well-suited to the terrain; however, wheelchairs may be more challenging due to uneven surfaces.
We recommend wearing comfortable, sturdy footwear suitable for garden paths and variable ground conditions.
As the experience takes place outdoors, visits proceed in all weather conditions (rain or shine), and ground surfaces may vary depending on the weather.
